Jerome Krase began his long career of teaching and scholarship at Brooklyn College as an adjunct professor in 1969. He became a full-time assistant professor in 1970 while pursuing a PhD at NYU. He achieved tenure in 1976. Professor was named Chair of the Sociology Department at Brooklyn College twice, once in 1980, and a second time in 1999, a title he held until his retirement in 2003.
